Deputy Chair
Lex is the General Manager of Work Health Safety, Environment, and Quality at Built Environs, a commercial construction company that is part of the AVENG Group.
With 17 years of construction industry experience, Lex is a pragmatic problem solver who excels at integrating modern health and safety philosophies into practical initiatives and programs.
He began his career as a Formwork Carpenter and was soon nominated as a Health and Safety Representative. This role, combined with his postgraduate WHS studies, led to a transition into a management position with a Principal Contractor.
Since 2018, Lex has served as the Chairperson for the South Australia Construction Safety Alliance (SACSA), an industry body comprising various stakeholders, member construction companies, industry groups, unions, and SafeWork SA. Recently, he was also nominated as a committee member of the Mining and Quarrying Occupational Health and Safety Committee (MAQOHSC).
After being a long-time member of the AIHS, Lex joined the AIHS South Australia Branch Committee with the goal of enhancing networking and connection opportunities within the South Australian community.
